DESIGN
HP Elitebook 735 G6:
Here, the 735 G6 has got the aluminum body and the laptop feels light-weight. It doesn’t flex a lot because of the sturdy hinges. On the top of the laptop there is a “HP” logo and it has got a little chrome finish as well. The laptop feels premium and its also very solid and durable as well. Here, we have also got the antenna lines which is used for bluetooth and wifi.
HP Elitebook 745 G6:
This laptop has also got an aluminum body and it looks almost similar to 735 G6. Actually almost all the Elitebooks looks similar and there is no almost no difference between these laptops. Except some of these laptops are 2-in-1 convertible laptops and other are the tradtional laptops. This is what differentiate all Elitebook laptops.
KEYBOARD & TOUCHPAD
HP Elitebook 735 G6:
The keyboard on this laptop is really nice and feels very premium. The travel space is decent and the keys also feels really nice and gives a tactile feel when pressed. The keyboard size is decent and the keys are well spaced. We also have the option for backlit keyboards which is optional means you have the option to buy the laptop with backlit, if you are someone who also works in low lightning conditions.
The touchpad on this laptop is decent in size and the two buttons are integrated with touchpad which gives a decent area to use the touchpad. The touchpad feels smooth and it gives a very satisfactory feeling while while clicking the touchpad. It also has got the precision drivers with the multi-gesture support. The keyboard and touchpad are nice specially when working for long hours.
HP Elitebook 745 G6:
The keyboard on this device is decent in size and the keys are well spaced. The keyboard feels solid and gives a very premium feel. The flex on this laptop is very and thus, typing on this keyboard feels very comfortable. The key travel is decent just like the 735 G6 and the keys also gives very tactile feel when the keys are pressed. On this keyboard also you have an option to get backlit if you are someone who has to work in dark.
Now, the touchpad on this keyboard is almost the same the like the 735 G6. The size of the touchpad is decent and it is also integrated with two buttons on the touchpad. It also feels smooth and it also gives a very satisfying feeling when clicking the touchpad. This touchpad has also got the precision drivers with the multi-gesture support. There is almost no difference between these keyboard and the 735 G6’s keyboard. There is only one thing that makes all the difference and that’s hidden function keys. This are some special features available on this device which makes all the difference. But in my opinion these features are not that big of a deal.
DISPLAY
HP Elitebook 735 G6:
The Elitebook 735 G6 has got the 13.3-inch Full HD IPS display with anti-glare technology. The display has the resolution of 1920 x 1080p. The side-bezels of the 735 G6 are really thin, however the top and bottom bezels are not as thin as the side-bezels. The bezels on the bottom has got the “HP” logo in the center and the top bezel has got the 720p HD webcam with a physical camera shutter which blocks the camera, so that you don’t need to worry about your privacy.
HP Elitebook 745 G6:
This device has got the 14-inch Full HD IPS screen and it also has got the anti-glare screen. The side-bezels of this screen is thin and the top and the bottom bezels has got very thick bezels. On the bottom bezel we have got the “HP” logo and on the top bezels we have got a 720p HD webcam with a physical camera which the blocks the camera completely and thus your privacy is not compromised.
SPEAKERS
HP Elitebook 735 G6:
The 735 G6 has got the Bang & Olufsen with dual-stereo speakers and 3 multi-array microphones. The audio quality of these speakers is quite nice and these speakers are located just above the keyboard. The bass quality here is just OK and not that great.
HP Elitebook 745 G6:
The 745 G6 has also got the Bang & Olufsen with dual-stereo speakers and 3 multi-array microphones. The sound quality here is quite good and these speakers are located just above the keyboard. And because of the location of these speakers we were able to get such great audio quality. However the bass quality of these speakers is just OK like the 735 G6’s speakers.
PERFORMANCE
HP Elitebook 735 G6:
This laptop has got the AMD Ryzen 7 3700U Mobile Processor with Radeon Vega 10 Graphics. This processor has the base clock speed of 2.3 GHz and 4 GHz as the max clock speed, with the four cores in the processor. This device has got 16 GB DDR4 RAM with 512 GB of PCIe NVMe SSD. This processor can handle most of the games without any issues and in my testing I was able to open several tabs without any issues or lags. This processor is pretty good in terms of performance and it can easily manage most of the tasks without any issues.
HP Elitebook 745 G6:
Here, we have got AMD Ryzen 5 3500U APU with Radeon Vega 8 Graphics. Here we get 2.1 GHz as the base clockspeed on this processor and the maximum clock speed is up to 3.7 GHz. Here also this processor has got four cores. This device has got 8 GB DDR4 RAM with 256 GB PCIe NVMe SSD. This is not as powerful processor as the AMD Ryzen 7 but it’s still good to do your day-to-day task. This is a very nice processor if you are someone who wants a laptop to do the day-to-day task.
BATTERY
HP Elitebook 735 G6:
Here, we have a 50 WHr battery and the device also supports fast charging which is very convenient for those who have a very busy schedule. Here, we get the battery life from 9 to 10 hours which is decent to last the whole working day.
HP Elitebook 745 G6:
This device also has got primary battery of 50 WHr of 3-cell long life and this device comes with 65W adapter means this laptop supports fast charging which is pretty cool. We can expect battery life from somewhere around 9 to 10 hours in a single charge which is pretty nice.
PORT SELECTION
HP Elitebook 735 G6:
The HP 735 G6 has got two USB 3.1 Gen 1 (1 charging) port, a USB Type-C (Alt mode) port, a Smartcard reader, a RJ-45 ethernet port, one headphone/microphone jack, one HDMI 2.0 port, one docking connector and one AC power point.
HP Elitebook 745 G6:
Here, we have got a AC power point, a docking connector, a HDMI port, a headphone/microphone jack, a RJ-45 ethernet port, a SIM card slot, a Smartcard reader, a USB Type-C port, and two USB 3.1 Gen 1 (1 charging) port.
WEIGHT & DIMENSIONS
HP Elitebook 735 G6:
The weight of the HP Elitebook 735 G6 is 1.33 Kg/2.94 Pounds and the dimensions are 12.22 x 9.03 x 0.7-inches.
HP Elitebook 745 G6:
The weight of this device is 1.5 Kg/3.31 pounds and the dimensions are 12.84 x 9.22 x 0.7-inches.
WHICH ONE YOU SHOULD BUY?
Both the laptops are almost same as HP Elitebook 745 G6 is just a bit upgraded version.
So, in the end it just comes down to your prefrence, your choice and budget. For me, the choice is simple I would take HP Elitebook 745 G6 because it is the upgraded version of the 735 G6 and it’s better in almost every category. The processor was a little slow as we received the slower version of this laptop.
