Both the iPad’s has same design, where the body is flat instead of rounded. Those shiny chamfered edges from the front are gone. The only difference is size. The 11-inch is more portable than the 12.9-inch. That is the single biggest factor in its favor. Although 11 inch and 12.9 inch, don’t sound terribly different in size. Due to size, iPad 11 weighs 460 grams and iPad 12.9 weighs 630 grams, so obviously iPad 12.9 is 170 grams heavy. Also they both have 3D Face unlock.

You will get the benefit of the larger display. The iPad Pro 11 is a 11.0 inch while the iPad 12.9s is 12.9 inches. The screens are LCD IPS and they are awesome. The panels both look great they have the same pixel density at 265 PPI. The screens had the same fast 120 Hertz refresh rate for touch input. These 120 Hz displays make a world of difference when scrolling around or generally interacting with the iPad. iPad 12.9 has more Screen-to-body ratio.

Both the iPad’s are packed the Apple A12 Bionic chipset which brings a Apple 7-core GPU and is supposed to be both faster and more power efficient than last year’s A11. Along with this we get 4GB RAM. Gaming performance is great and I didn’t run into any issues at all. You can choose between Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi + Cellular models. The difference is you can insert a SIM card into the latter and use cellular data.

Apple has made sure to upgrade the cameras in the new iPad Pro 11” and 12.9”. Both rear cameras have 12MP and 7MP for selfies. Quality-wise, images from both the rear and front cameras are pretty decent.

Both the iPad’s have larger batteries, 7812 mAh and 9720 mAh, respectively. Apple continues to promise up to 10-hours battery life, if you are a mild user. In our better life tests, both iPad’s scored an excellent 11 hour rating, the highest we’ve seen from an iPad.

CONCLUSION

There is no difference in design and hardware of iPad Pro 11-inch and the iPad Pro 12.9-inch. The only areas they differ are in their physical footprint, display size and their price.

Now it depends on you that which is better for you, if you want big display then iPad Pro 12.9 is for you but if you want to save some money then iPad Pro 11-inch will be more sufficient.
