It has an aluminum exterior shell. The laptop has a modern silver finishing with the Dell logo at the back of the screen. On the bottom of the laptop, there is an air intake grille for cooling. The height of the laptop ranges from 14.15 mm to 17.90 mm (0.56″ to 0.70″), the width is 356.1 mm (14.02″), the depth is 234.5 mm (9.23″). The starting weight of this laptop is 1.714 kg (3.78 lbs) and can increase based on different configurations.

When the screen is opened, the hinge design raises the laptop to allow improved air circulation for cooling when the laptop is used on a flat surface. The lifted hinge also allows for a more comfortable typing angle.

It has got a very sleek premium look. In terms of build quality, it is a fully metal body.  This totally gives a premium look and finish. It weighs around 1.7 kgs, so it will be really beneficial for carrying it around. For those who want to travel with this laptop and also want to lightweight with a big display, this is for you.

There is a rubberized material at the hinge from one end to the other which comes in contact with the surface or the table. When the laptop is open as it raises the laptop a few millimeters for heat dissipation. What I like the most about this laptop is that it looks very clean, neat, and has a very sharp design. It is also very easy to open the laptop single-handedly. The way this laptop looks, all your desires for an XPS or Macbook will fall away.

One issue that people might find is the weight. It’s around 1.7 kgs but I find it easy to lift it and for the people whose most of the work is based on the table, it will be perfect. The bezels around the screen are thin and it is surrounded by a soft white material which looks very good.

We have a 15.6-inch full HD (1920 x 1080) screen with either 220 nits and 45% NTSC, 300 nits, and 72% NTSC. So, the display quality is really nice for this price range. The brightness, anti-glare technology, and everything is perfect.

In terms of display, it’s got a full HD 15.6-inch display and it’s not an IPS panel but a WVA panel with 72% NTSC and 300 nits of brightness. Also, it has thin narrow bezels which look really awesome and give modern look. All in all, it a great display with good viewing.

This is a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 laptop model, series 5502 which has specific sets of configurations that come with the new 11th Generation Intel processors. This laptop comes with the new 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 or i7-1165G7 Processor with integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics. It has 16 GB memory and 1 TB Solid State Drive (also referred as SSD). The laptop comes in silver color. The screen is a 15.6 inch Full HD display.

This is not a touch display. The operating system is Windows 10 Home edition. This laptop comes with wireless-AX, which is also known as WIFI 6, and should provide better speeds, range, and reliability in busy or high-traffic areas. It also includes Bluetooth. There is an integrated 4-cell battery.

On the right side, there is a MicroSD Card Reader, a USB 3.2 Gen 1, and a Headphone/Microphone Combo. On the left side, there is a Power jack, HDMI 1.4, a USB 3.2 Gen 1, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (which has DisplayPort and PowerDelivery features). 

This laptop comes with a 65W adapter. There is an English International backlit keyboard with a numeric keypad. The touchpad without dedicated right and left click buttons. At the top of the screen is a 720p 30fps HD camera with dual-array microphones. There are stereo speakers on both the sides of the laptop. DELL website also mentions that the power buttons are tested for 40,000 presses and keyboard keys for 5 million clicks without failure. Open, closed, or twisted – Inspiron’s base and lid have been tested tens of thousands of times.

It is an Intel core i3 or i5 or i7 10 generation processor with 4-16 GB RAM and up to 2 TB solid-state drive which is huge storage. On one side, there is the charging port, HDMI port, USB Type-A, and USB Type-C. On the other side, there is another USB- A port, an SD card slot, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. In this period of time, hardly anyone uses the micro SD card. 

The speaker grille is located right in front of the screen which is not visible from the front during normal usage. One thing I love about this laptop is the big trackpad that has been provided, it’s very comfortable to use.

The keypad here is a backlit keyboard with two levels of backlit. To improve battery life, it turns off automatically when it is not in use. The keys are pretty solid and the typing is also good enough. The trackpad is also smooth and supports all the Windows multi-gestures. The size is also accurate, neither too big nor too small. This got one fan for cooling and the sound is not loud at all, you will notice only when it is turned on.

The battery inside this laptop is 4-cells with a 52WHr Lithium-Ion battery. The battery life you get will be around 6 hours on light to mid-range usage. The heavy you use the laptop, the battery life will decrease.

There are two options for the battery inside it, 3-cell 40WHr and 4-cell 50WHr lithium-Ion battery. In the 40WHr battery, you will get around 5 hours of battery life in light use, and in the 53WHr battery, you will get around 6-8 hours. It does take 2-3 hours to charge completely.

WHICH TO BUY?

Both the laptops are good enough for the price. The only thing here is to choose which one you want is the processor. Even though both the laptops have different features, both are good to buy. So, if you want the latest 11th gen processor for better and speedy performance then, you should go for Dell Inspiron 15 5502. Otherwise, the Dell Inspiron 5501 is also a good one with 10th gen processor.
