Dell G3 15 3500

This laptop is a bit different compared to the old 2018 version of the Dell G3 gaming laptop and probably you already know that this laptop is Dell’s cheapest gaming laptop. It’s currently priced at around $800.

Dell G3 15 3590

This is the older version of G3 3500 and in this, you will see that the G3 3590 is enough as an entry-level gaming laptop or it needed to be upgraded. The G3 3590 is also a decent gaming laptop considering its price.

I personally think that the build quality is really good. It’s made of plastic but it doesn’t feel like it’s cheap material. Now, on the top, the laptop has a smooth texture that doesn’t attract fingerprints with a logo that somehow gives a green reflection.

On the inside, we have a blue keyboard. It’s very comfortable and I haven’t had any problems getting used to it. The keyboard is backlit with a blue color which is convenient if you’re gonna use it at night.

Dell G3 15 3590

It isn’t the thinnest computer you’ll find but considering it to be mainly a gaming computer, it isn’t too bad. Now, comparing it to a Chromebook, there’s a big difference in size but it isn’t a Chromebook.

The thing about this computer which disappoints is the hinge system on this. This is the most sturdy and isn’t very solid, I mean the hinge is not too bad but the design can be better in my opinion.

The keyboard is also really good with backlit keys that have three modes; off, medium, and high which can be switched with one button. The trackpad on this is not as large as the MacBook but it’s a good size which is definitely enough.

Dell G3 15 3500

This laptop has 1920 by 1080 resolution 60 Hertz 15-inch screen. It does have another option with a 144-hertz display panel which will perform better than the 60-hertz refresh rate panel. Overall, the display quality is quite good with Full HD technology.

Dell G3 15 3590

After a quick set up, we can see that the screen is quite good. It gets pretty bright even in highly lit environments. The screen is quite good with 1080p and 60fps which makes watching video is really nice. The bezels of this computer are also not too bad, although they don’t go to the very edge they still look pretty good.

The latest G3 3500 15-inch laptop has 10th gen Intel i7-10750H and i5-10300H processors with plenty of options in GPU. The graphics card options are NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, NVIDIA RTX 2060. The storage is m.2 NVMe up to 512 GB and the memory can get up to 16GB onboard.

The left side of the laptop has a port to plug in the charger, HDMI, USB-A, and a Thunderbolt, Ethernet port. On the right side, there’s an SD card slot, an audio jack port, and two USB-A ports.

Now, there aren’t any major issues I have with this laptop. A downside may be the monitor refresh rate which is only 60 Hertz, now this isn’t much of a big problem. If you’re a very serious gamer, you may want a higher refresh rate like 120 Hertz or 240 Hertz. These 60 Hertz is probably all you need if you’re just gonna do entry-level gaming.

Dell G3 15 3590

As for specs, this computer has 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, 1080p 60hertz display, 8 GB of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics, and an intel core i7 CPU. 16 GB of RAM enables you to do many things like use as many tabs as you want without refreshing every time and it really helps with browsing and the overall speed of a computer. As for ports in the computer, on the right side, we have an SD card reader and two USB ports. On the other side, we have the power cord, a USB type-c port, HDMI port, a USB port, Ethernet, and a headphone jack.

The speakers on this are probably one of the best parts of this computer and get really loud and even in 100% volume, it doesn’t have much disturbance. The microphone on this is also excellent, and you can even record podcasts on this with no issues which make voice typing a lot easier. Because of this great microphone, activating Cortana with your voice is no longer a big problem and you can ask it whatever you want. Having a great microphone also helps when doing Skype calls or something on your computer which has a camera that isn’t too much different than the usual.

This computer also comes with an app, the less you see all the current stats and health of your laptop like your GPU, graphics, and your memory information. You can also see the temperatures of things like your CPU fan and your system fan. You can also set many adjustments to your profile as well.

This laptop can handle heavy tasks such as gaming and 4K video rendering with no hassle. This laptop does come with a 10th generation Intel Core i5 10300H 2.5 gigahertz processor with CPU usage up to 4.5 gigahertz and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card with four gigabytes of VRAM and this laptop also comes with eight gigabytes of memory inside as well. I think this is more than enough if you’re going to do 10 EP in 1440p gaming or if you’re gaming at 4K then the frame rate will go down to 60fps or lower in my experience. It depends on how resource-intensive the game is.

When it comes to performance, this laptop will be able to play AAA titles with no problems such as Fortnight, Overwatch, and Witcher if you’re just gaming at 1080p or 1440p. There is this cool feature which is the high-performance mode which significantly boosts performance in fps. You can enable this by hitting the f7 key which has a G logo on that and this will increase the fan cooling speed of the computer. So obviously, you should only do this while laptops plugged in.

Dell G3 15 3590

The loading times aren’t amazing. There is really no lag whatsoever, everything is working perfectly fine with no issues and it’s very smooth. Every game works really well with it. Keep in mind that this is running all epic settings and it’s doing very well.

When playing games, this computer likes to boost its fan speed completely which gets annoying at times. I haven’t noticed any issues with airflow but my only issue is that the fan is loud and the computer gets hot in high intense applications like GTA 5. You can also switch on the higher fan speed like if you were in an app and you wanted some higher performance, you can also switch it back off.

This computer can also handle video editing with no problems. The graphics card able to do all this and rendering is also fast and can handle CAD and other high-intensity programs. I’ve been able to render many long videos as well as using CAD for work without any issues and it won’t be a problem if anyone decides to get this computer.

Dell G3 15 3500

The battery life is actually pretty good. It lasts about three to four hours when you’re doing simple tasks but when you’re gaming, it gets shortened to about an hour to two hours.

Dell G3 15 3590

This computer has trouble with it, it doesn’t last very long, especially when using heavy applications or games. This computer is used mainly for being plugged in to maximize his capability.

Dell G3 15 3590

Overall, I think the Dell G3 3500 gaming laptop is worth the price and it’s definitely a solid laptop with great performance and with improvements compared to the old version of this laptop. I highly suggest getting it if you’re just gonna do entry-level gaming at like 1080p or just 1440p. I think G3 3590 is a great gaming laptop but it won’t be too good to carry around.

In my opinion, there is not much difference in the price range of both laptops. If it is, then also it will be around $200. So, I think the higher-end model of the latest G3 3500 will be better in performance, thermal control, and everything.
