Microsoft Surface Go 2

This device is mostly made of aluminum and feels really nice and durable as well. The design of the Surface Go 2 is quite unique as it is created in the landscape mode because this device is created for working professionals. However, the design is very similar to its predecessor, and as well as the build quality of the device is similar as well. The kickstand is very durable and it also works like the back of the device as well. Under the kickstand, we get a microSD card which is nice to upgrade the storage of the device.

Overall, the design and the build quality of the device is good enough for a working professional or even good enough for everyday users as well.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7

The Surface Pro 7 is exactly the same as the Surface Pro 6 only difference in the design of both of these devices is that the Surface Pro 7 has got Type-C port on the right side of the device. Other than this there is no difference in the design of the Surface Pro 7 and Surface Pro 6. The kickstand is also very durable like its predecessor. This device is also lightweight like its predecessor and also sleek as well.

Overall, the design of Surface Pro 7 is good, and also the build quality is nice as well. The grip is also nice and the bezels are also thin enough.

Microsoft Surface Go 2

This device has got a 10.5-inch screen with very sleek which is good for those who want the modern look of the device but it’s just fine for those who are concern about the grip of the device. The resolution of the screen is 1920 x 1280 pixels which means that it’s a Full HD screen and it has an aspect ratio of 3:2. The other great thing about this device is that it is a laminated screen and also the color reproduction is nice and viewing angles are nice as well.

If you love drawing, sketching, or writing with the stylus then probably this device is not for you. As for writing or drawing with the stylus works just fine as it lags a lot.

Overall, the display is good enough for watching movies, videos or scrolling through social media apps. But the stylus does lags a little bit while drawing or sketching.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7

The display is also the same as its predecessor. It is a 12.3-inch pixel sense display with 2736 x 1824 pixel resolution. The viewing angles are wide as the panel has got IPS display and also the color reproduction is nice as well.

However, the brightness is not good enough but it definitely good enough to use in outdoor lighting conditions. The other thing is that it has got an aspect ratio of 3:2 which means that there are some black spaces on the top and the bottom while playing videos.

However, the display is good enough for watching videos, drawing and also every day task as well.

Here, we get to see two front-facing stereo speakers. These speakers are placed on the sides of the display. These speakers are good enough to fill the room but the sound quality is not so great.

I have the base version with the Intel Pentium Gold 4425Y and the performance is really bad. This device lags a lot even for doing some simple tasks like opening a zoom app. If several apps are open at the same time then some of these apps will get shut down because of the less processing power.

Even while playing simple games I notice some lags which I was expecting. Also, if you are a working professional, then expect this device to work smoothly for simple office apps but don’t expect anything else from the base version of this device.

In my opinion, you should go for the high variant of this device so that you get better performance and processing power from the device.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7

The Surface Pro 7 has got stereo speakers and the sound quality of these speakers is nice. These speakers are placed in the front on the sides of the display and because of that the sound quality is nice but I would recommend using earphones to enjoy watching movies or videos on this device.

The performance of the device is good for everyday use and apps like YouTube, Chrome, Facebook, etc. works very well. Even multitasking on the Pro 7 is great and also you get the option for split-screen as well. Also, the performance is good enough for office work and apps like Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc. works super smoothly. In short, you will not get any lags on any Microsoft apps.

Even photo editing works great on apps like Photoshop. You might get some lags or stutters if you do editing work on high-resolution photos but it might just happen on the low variants device having 4 GB RAM but it might not happen on the 8 GB RAM variant. Even video editing works great and the videos with 4K resolution can also be edited but if you are a professional photo or video editor then I would recommend going for the i7 processor.

Now, if you are someone who wants to play games then the device is definitely not for you but you can definitely do some moderate like playing Fortnite at medium or low graphic settings.

Here, the most surprising thing I found is the front-facing camera/ webcam. The quality of the webcam is good and also the colors are nice as well. In fact, because of the two front-facing microphones, the audio quality is good as well.

The battery life of the device is pretty average as in real life test it only lasted for 4 – 5 hours. Now, if the usage is more rough then the battery life can go as low as 3 to 4 hours. However, because of its charging brick, it charges under an hour and the standby time is also good as well.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7

The back camera has a resolution of 8-megapixels and the result is fine. I did some document scanning with this camera and the result pretty much nice. Even the front camera is nice as well and video editing in Full HD is also supported on both these cameras. Also, this webcam is good enough for video calling as well.

This device has got somewhere around 11-hours of battery life according to my video looping test. In this test, I am looping a video at medium brightness, on wifi. However, the standby time of the device is good, and also the charging speed is good as well.

Which Should You Buy?

Now, both of these tablets are nice according to their prices. However, buying one of these tablets is depended on the needs of the person and also it budget as well. However, if you ask me then I will go for Surface Pro 7 as I could many things on this device like photo editing, video editing, every daily activity, and many other things as well.

However, if you are on budget and your priority is office work then the Surface Go 2 is sufficient enough for that. Even everyday work can also be done on this device. But I wouldn’t recommend editing videos or photos as you might notice lags or stutters with it.
