The main point to note in terms of specs difference is that the RX 6800 has 16GB of memory, which is double the total memory capacity of the RTX 3070. The RX 6800 uses more power, is faster, and is more expensive.

GAMING PERFORMANCE
Now it’s time to test some games on both graphics card. I have tested games to recognize GPU’s true potential, durability, and speed. All games are tested at 1440p Resolution on Ultra Settings.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
I’ve tested Assassin’s Creed Odyssey with ray tracing and DLSS disabled, however these features are benefits on offer with the RX 6800 that the RTX 3070 misses out on.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on the other hand typically favours AMD, so it wasn’t too surprising to see the RX 6800 coming out ahead at 1440p.
Battlefield V
Battlefield 5 was tested in campaign mode. The RTX 3070 was still able to pass 100 FPS at 1440p even with the highest ultra setting preset but still RX 6800 was giving 174 FPS.
Horizon Zero Dawn
I’ve tested Horizon Zero Dawn with the game’s benchmark tool. At 1440p the RX 6800 was reaching 23% higher average FPS.
Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2 was tested using the games benchmark, this was another win for the RX 6800, which was 23% faster at 1440p.
Resident Evil 3 Remake
Resident Evil 3 Remake wasn’t quite passing 200 FPS at 1440p with the RTX 3070. It’s not far behind, and the RX 6800 was 21% ahead.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Shadow of the Tomb Raider was tested with the game’s benchmark. A larger win for the RX 6800 in this one, which was 26% faster than the RTX 3070 at 1440p.
World War Z
World War Z was also tested with the games benchmark, and was a test where the RX 6800 was offering a significant boost.
CONCLUSION
RX 6800 is clearly performing better n all games. The extra VRAM capacity of the 6800 is probably going to make it perform a bit better years from now compared to the 3070. I think it’s impressive that AMD are able to offer higher performing options like this.
