iPhone 14 vs iPhone 15: 6 Reasons to Wait For New iPhone

Estimated read time 4 min read

So, for the past 2-3 weeks, there have been a lot of leaks and rumors on the internet about the iPhone 15, and based on those rumors and leaks, today I am going to give you 6 reasons why you should wait for the iPhone 15 instead of buying the iPhone 14.

1. Design Upgrades

iPhone 15 Design Upgrades

Firstly, let’s talk about the design changes. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will have the same design as the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.

However, the Pro models will have some changes, such as curved edges on the backside, which are not as curved as the iPhone 11 but still provide more comfort when holding the phone.

Additionally, the frame of the iPhone 14 was made of stainless steel, but the iPhone 15 will have a titanium frame, which is slightly more expensive but also lighter, reducing the overall weight of the phone. This is why the price of the 15 Pro models may increase.

Another design change is the removal of the mute switch, which will be replaced by an Action button, similar to the one found on the Apple Watch. This Action button will allow users to perform various actions.

There were also rumors that the volume button would be replaced with a solid-state button that included a taptic engine, similar to the home button on the iPhone 7 and 8 series. However, this feature has reportedly been cancelled due to technical issues.

2. Insane Display

iPhone 15 Display

The next big change is related to the display, and the good news is that all iPhone 15 models will feature a dynamic island display. This is one of the best reasons to wait for the iPhone 15. Additionally, the OLED display will be more power-efficient, which will increase the phone’s battery life.

Furthermore, Apple may break its record for bezels this time around. The iPhone 14 Pro models have bezels that are 2.17mm thick, but according to rumors, the iPhone 15 Pro models will have 1.55mm bezels, making them the thinnest bezels on any smartphone.

3. Type-C Port iPhone

Type-C Port iPhone

The third reason is that the iPhone 15 will come with a Type-C port, and this news is confirmed. I am a bit disappointed because you won’t be able to connect many of Apple’s accessories with a normal Type-C wire, and the charging and transfer speeds will also be slow. The only solution to all of this is that you will have to buy an Apple MFi Certified Type-C cable, the price of which is unknown, but you will have to buy this wire for fast charging and fast transfer speeds.

According to rumors, the 15 Pro models will have USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3, while the Non-Pro Models will have USB 2.0, which is obviously slower, but fast charging and fast data transfer speeds will still be possible.

4. iPhone 15 with Periscope Camera

Another significant upgrade is the periscope camera, which will only be available on the iPhone 15 Pro Max model. This lens has the unique ability to provide up to 6x digital zoom, which is a huge benefit for photographers and videographers.

5. Next Level Performance

The fifth reason on my list is performance, and the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will feature the A16 Bionic chip, which is also present in the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. The 15 Pro models, on the other hand, will feature the A17 Bionic chip. According to leaks, It is also rumored that the Pro models may feature up to 8GB of RAM.

6. No Price Changes for iPhone 15 & 15 Plus

iPhone 15 new colors

The last reason on my list is pricing and new colors. Regarding colors, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be available in two new colors – Dark Pink and Light Blue. The Pro models will have a new color – Dark Red, which personally, I love.

As for pricing, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will have the same launch prices as the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. However, there may be a price increase for the Pro models, but the exact amount of increase is currently unknown.
