DISPLAY
HP EliteBook x360 1040 G5:
Here, we got different IPS display panel options from 4K to 1080p. Here I have a 14-inch review model which has a 1080p with 120 Hertz outdoor viewable panel which is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. It maxes out at 700 nits and it shows as the maximum settings. The panel is a 100% SRGB and it is great for working on visual program like Photoshop and illustrator. Generally the colors and contrast are very good and even the screen is very sharp. Here we also have HP shoreview Gen 2 which helps to protect against visual hacking at a touch of a button. It is very convenient for those who travel a lot and cannot afford sensitive information leaking while they work from airports, cafe’s and trains.
HP EliteBook x360 1040 G6:
Here, we have a 14-inch FHD IPS anti-glare WLED-backlit touchscreen display with SureView integrated for our privacy and for our daily use as well. The side bezels are very thin but the bottom and top bezels are not thin at all. We also have a web cam which helps in video recording and it also has an in-built microphone. The camera here is a FullHD 1080p with IR and this camera is not bad at all. But it’s nice to see increase in resolution of the camera.

The design of this keyboard is really good and here we have got dual bang & Olufsen, stereo speakers with 3 multi array microphone. The speakers here are of really good quality and it’s one of the best laptop with really good speakers.
PERFORMANCE
HP EliteBook x360 1040 G5:
Here, on this model it has kabi lake refresh core i5-8350 processor with Intel UHD graphics 620. It has 16 GB of DDR4 soldered on RAM and 256 GB of PCIE SSD of storage. The i5-8350U processor is very efficient and should be suited for most business tasks offering four cores with Hyper threading. Single multi-core tasks are good compared to the competition. However, HP has fought all the power limits which permits maximum turbo for 28 seconds to conserve energy consumption.
Here, we get the integrated UHD 620 holds no surprises as it’s a very common solution for ultrabooks like X360 1040 and it’s best suited for light gaming at lower resolutions. It could suffice for occasional 1080p rendering on Premiere Pro or some light Photoshop workloads.
HP EliteBook x360 1040 G6:
Here, we have a Intel Core i5-8265U processor with Intel UHD Graphics 620. Here, we have a core i5-8265U 8th generation processor with a good clock speed which can handle most of games or software without any hassle. In today’s time we have processors which are over the bar for what we need for any experience. You are not going to be limited for any game experience or software experience as we have got Intel UHD Graphics 620 which is very fast as any integrated Intel HD.
The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 along with the i5 eight gen processor, this laptop can handle pretty much all types of big games at high settings with nice frames per second.
Overall the performance of this laptop is really nice. And any task can be done without any hassle.
BATTERY
HP EliteBook x360 1040 G5:

HP EliteBook x360 1040 G6:
It has a 56.2 Wh Li-ion polymer battery which is really good in size and it does a really good work with battery optimization. Now HP, claims that it can last upto 24 hours which is not true and it actually gives somewhere around 10 hours of battery life.

WHICH ONE YOU SHOULD BUY?
The specs of both the laptops are almost similar to each other and so are the features of these laptops. Both of these laptops are convertible laptops, there screens are also very good, the weight and dimensions are also very similar, ports, speakers, battery life, display, and design is also very similar as well.
According to me G5 is my choice and it should be yours as well but it’s not necessary that you only buy G5. You can also buy G6 if you think you need a upgraded laptop as both of them are very similar and it would save a little bit of money as both the laptops are almost similar.
