DESIGN

Lenovo ThinkPad X380 Yoga:

This is a two in one device which means you can use it as a laptop or tablet. It is primarily designed as a business device but it can certainly be used as a very good home device as well. It’s got a decent weight of 1.4 Kg, it’s not too heavy but it’s not the lightest too. You can flip it over and use it as a tablet, but it’s pretty heavy so it is hard to use as a tablet for too long.

There is also a rechargeable ThinkPad pen pro. Which you can store on the right side of your laptop with inbuilt charging.

There’s one 720p HD camera with a mic on top of the display. You can add an external IR camera that would enable facial recognition.

Lenovo ThinkPad X390 Yoga:

This is the new Lenovo 2-in-1 business laptop. So it can be a laptop or it can be converted swing flip back, if you maybe convert it into a tablet. There is a pen located on the bottom of the laptop with an inbuilt charger so you don’t need to buy an extra battery for a pen. This pen does 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity.

DISPLAY

Lenovo ThinkPad X380 Yoga:

The display is a 13.3 inch fully high-definition IPS touchscreen with a resolution of 1920 X 1080.

Lenovo is classifying the display to be anti-reflective, anti-smudge and multi-touch.

It has 200-250 nits of brightness for this display. On top of the laptop, it has a 720p HD webcam which doesn’t have a shutter to turn the camera off. It is 30 frames per second fixed focus. Which is not bad when you’re doing a video call.

It is a multi-touch display so you can use it with your fingertips or pen, it works very smoothly.

Lenovo ThinkPad X390 Yoga:

This is a 13.3-inch FHD display with 1920 X 1080 resolution and it does have a pretty thin bezel which is fantastic. It is IPS and it can do a maximum of 300 nits of brightness, so you can use it in daylight.

It does have a 720p HD webcam on the display and it does have a privacy shutter on top so you can turn off the camera.

WEIGHT & DIMENSIONS

Lenovo ThinkPad X380 Yoga:

It has 1.4 kg of weight with 12.3 x 8.75 x 0.72(inches) of dimensions.

Lenovo ThinkPad X390 Yoga:

It is a 1.29 Kg so it’s not very heavy. Dimensions are 12.2 x 8.6 x 0.63 (iches).

PERFORMANCE

Lenovo ThinkPad X380 Yoga:

The processor you can get up to 8th gen Intel® Core™ i7-8650U with vPro™. There are two options available in Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Pro.

The graphics card is an integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics card, So it’s not a bad card, but it’s certainly not designed for gaming.

You can get up to 16 GB of ram and 1 TB storage. It’s got a Wi-Fi card in there of uses 802.11 AC.

Lenovo ThinkPad X390 Yoga:

This is 8th Generation Intel®. You can get an i5 and i7 version of this computer. It can go up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of SSD storage. It runs Windows 10 pro. And the graphics are Intel 620 UHD integrated graphics so you can get a good quality of graphics chipset on this.

It gets a little bit warm when you use 30-60% for more than one hour but it does not get too much warm so still, it’s quite touchable and usable.

PORT SELECTION

Lenovo ThinkPad X380 Yoga:

On the left side, you have your power port, thunderbolt or USB type-c port you can charge it through that port as well, it does take a little bit longer but you can do that. There’s a mini RJ45 port your USB port and then you have a smart card slot.

On the right side, there is a power button with a little indicator light on it, a headphone jack, there is a combination of micro SD and SIM card slot which allows you to pop the card in and out very easily, but sim card itself does require SIM card removal tool, a standard USB port, HDMI and your Kensington lock.

Lenovo ThinkPad X390 Yoga:

On the left-hand side of the laptop, we have a USB Type-C for Powering the computer, The thunderbolt hidden in this special port, dongle port. Now they will have a special dongle that you can use to connect ethernet. Another USB-A type, another USB 3.1, we’ve got audio combo Jack and optional smart card reader slot here as well.

On the right-hand side of the laptop, we’ve got the pen which is included in the laptop. and we have the power button, a micro SD and sim card slot, card reader with USB type-A, HDMI port, and a security port.

There is only an exhaust fan on the backside.

KEYBOARD & TOUCHPAD

Lenovo ThinkPad X380 Yoga:

The keyboard is very smooth, and the distance between each key is also comfortable. It feels nice on the fingertips, expensive and smooth.

They allow you to swap the key, so you can change or swap keys with each other from settings.

When you convert your laptop into a tablet mode, the keys get down which allows you to put the tablet down without hitting any other keys.

Touchpad is looking quite small but it’s very responsive and smooth. There is a fingerprint scanner is located on the corner of the right side, of the touchpad.

Lenovo ThinkPad X390 Yoga:

The Lenovo keyboard you’ve got a nice kind of travel the detect off feel to it which is great and smooth. They’ve also included a little red joystick on the keyboard which is one of the legacies things to move the mouse around.

The trackpad is pretty smooth and easy to type also these two buttons on top of the touchpad are easy to use. There is a fingerprint scanner located on the right side of the touchpad.

SPEAKERS

Lenovo ThinkPad X380 Yoga:

They use Dolby Premium Audio sound in this laptop, it produces a quite good sound but if you want better sound then you can connect headphones or external speakers.

Lenovo ThinkPad X390 Yoga:

There are two speakers located on the bottom of the laptop. sound quality is very good but because is located on the bottom so it gives the kind of surrounding sound.

BATTERY

Lenovo ThinkPad X380 Yoga:

It has a 65-Watt charger which charges your laptop very quickly.

The battery is a 51 Wh battery which gives you up to 12.5 hours of battery life.

Lenovo ThinkPad X390 Yoga:

The laptop comes with a 65-watt power supply and it does have rapid charge so you can charge the battery in 1 hour you can charge 80% of the very good battery.

Lenovo claimed 14.5 hours of battery life, but after testing this can work around 8 hours with 50% of brightness.

WHICH TO BUY?

So at the end after comparing these two laptops I suggest you to go with X380. It is also not much expensive than X390, so this is the best laptop for business use and regular use at this price and you can get many useful features as well. This is also very easy to use anyone can operate this laptop easily. So according to me, you should go with X380.
