DESIGN

Lenevo ThinkPad T490:

This is an awesome matte black finish traveling professional laptop. The case material itself is made out of a hard plastic material. It’s very thinner and lighter and a great traveling laptop.

PERFORMANCE

Lenevo ThinkPad T490:

When it comes to performance this laptop doesn’t disappoint you. This is an Intel Core i7 8565U with 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD NVMe and, a clock speed of 1.8 GHz. The base speed is 1.99 GHz. There’s no more hard drive inside. Now the SSD storage is both large and affordable depending on the drive that you get.

This is not a gaming laptop although you can get an optional MX 250 GPU which will give you a little bit more horsepower to do things such as video editing. You can play some old title games on this if you turn down on settings, But you can’t play new titles very well on this that’s because of lack of GPU. You can connect an external GPU if you want to.

When it comes to the thermals, when you’re doing everyday tasks it stayed relatively cool didn’t get overly hot, but when you did put it under heavy load it starts to get warm and you will notice the fan will kick in also it wasn’t overly loud, annoying and that was good.

Lenevo ThinkPad T495:

This is gonna be a great system. This is an AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 3700U(2.30GHz, up to 4.0GHz Max Boost, 4 cores, 4MB Cache) processor that available with Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro. There are no issues with this keyboard, and the distance between the two keys is very good so you can type very smoothly. There is a backlight available on the keyboard so you can easily work in the dark. You can also turn it off when you don’t need it.

There is a trackpad located below the keyboard. It is very smooth to use and two-finger gestures. You can also have a joystick as an alternative use, which is located on the keyboard.

Speakers are located on the top of the keyboard and left side of the power button.

Lenevo ThinkPad T495:

It has stereo speakers. It is a business laptop so it doesn’t have enough good quality of sound, but still, you can enjoy it.

BATTERY

Lenevo ThinkPad T490:

There is a 65-Watt USB Type-C fast charger that comes with this laptop. There is a 50Wh battery available on this laptop. There is no external battery spot on this laptop so you won’t be able to connect an external battery. This can gives you about 7 to 8 hours of battery life. It can charge your laptop up to 80% in just 1 hour.

Lenevo ThinkPad T495:

There is a 65W Ac adapter with USB Type-C. So it can charge your laptop very quickly. It also has a 50Wh battery with Rapid-charging Technology. This can give you approximately 6.5 hours of battery life.

WHICH TO BUY?

So at the end after comparing these both laptops I found Lenovo ThinkPad T490 very useful. It has much better performance and specification than T495 according to this price. It is very light in weight so you can carry this anywhere. So according to me, you can invest your money on T490, it well worth it.
