The Dell Inspiron 3593 is the new version of Inspiron 3580. This laptop does offer a good pack of features under a budget. This laptop will be beneficial for students, small businesses, for productivity works, and all computer tasks.

Lenovo Ideapad 15 S340

While it’s not the cheapest or the most feature-rich laptop we’ve ever reviewed, it’s a nice quality laptop. This is a basic level budget laptop special for productivity work. 

DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION:

Dell Inspiron 15 3593

It sports a sober design with its black frame textured finish. When it comes to design manufacturing, it has a plastic chassis that flexes if you want it to and you might need to be careful when you put it inside of a backpack or something. The finish is matte on the bottom and around the screen. While the base and the lid have this subtle carbon imitating 3D effect which attracts fingerprints more than a brand-new iPhone. In terms of measurements, the laptop weighs 2.20 kilogram and has a profile of 22.7 millimeters which is actually very decent. It doesn’t have enough structural integrity. Thanks to the plastic material on the back which results in a very distinctive flex and squeaking when you push it too hard.

The chiclet keyboard has a numeric keypad useful precision while it is absent from other dell 15-inch laptops. However, there is no backlighting of the keys of priore, a biometric reader could be integrated to authenticate by recognizing fingerprints on the system via Windows hello but this is to be confirmed in any case the screen will interest more generally high-definition content with its 16:9 format in precise Full HD definition.

As it has anti-glare technology, the screen is more readable in a bright environment than a glossy screen. This Dell Inspiron 15 3593 is a responsive 15-inch high-definition laptop for everyday versatile use. The display quality is pretty good but not the best and it doesn’t have an option of 1080p.

Lenovo Ideapad 15 S340

The screen is 15.6 inches and it is full high resolution, so that means it’s got a nice 1080p panel. It’s got good color reproductions, it’s bright. It’s matte, so you won’t have any glare either like outside or on a brightly lit room but it’s not a touchscreen.

This laptop model is Dell Inspiron 15 3593 which comes with the new generation of Intel Core i5 processor, 8 gigabytes RAM, 1 terabyte hard disk, 256 gigabytes SSD, and a dedicated Nvidia graphics card, also preloaded with the original Windows 10 Home operating system.

Dell Inspiron 15 3593 is a new laptop with 15 inches full HD anti-reflective screen. Designed for general purpose use. It is powerful in current use with its quad-core i5 comet Lake processor and it’s a good amount of RAM. It takes advantage of an Nvidia graphics card with optimist technology to run low-power games as well as a USB 3.1 type C connection.

This computer incorporates good connectivity, consisting of one USB 3.1 type C, Wi-Fi AC, and Bluetooth 4.1 wireless modules. Additionally, the low mid and high tones are clear of deviations. This laptop is clearly not the cutting edge of technology.

While the keyboard doesn’t feature a backlight, I am very impressed. It feels when typing, thanks to its rather long key travel and clicky feedback. Moreover, the touchpad is also great for use although it hasn’t annoying before you can click it. Although it has a dedicated number pad portion, the keys are slightly narrower than those of the rest of the keyboard. The scissor switches have good travel and clicky feedback which makes the laptop pretty comfortable for work. Then, there is a touchpad. While it is generally good with its fast response times and decent accuracy, there is something not so good about it. There is a slight clearance before a click is detected which is a little annoying.

When we turn the laptop, there is one rather small ventilation grille placed right above the fan. Additionally, there are two cutouts for the speakers themselves as well as one heat output between the base and the display.

It comes with the 10th generation i5 processor with 12 GB of RAM DDR4. It is an 8 by 4 configuration meaning 4 GB is soldered directly on the motherboard comes with an 8 GB for a total of 12 but you can upgrade it to 20 gigabytes if you want to take the back cover off and pop in another card. I think 12 GB is going to be enough. It comes with the Intel UHD graphics to accompany the 10th generation i5 processor and it comes with a 512 GB NVMe solid-state drive which is blazing facts. Also, upgradable to one or two terabytes if you want to spring for the extra storage and put in the NVMe card. In terms of power and speed, this thing is fantastic. The RAM will be more than enough horsepower to do things like ROZ on Photoshop.

Lenovo is of course very proud of the thin bezels they have surrounding their 15.6-inch screen. In terms of features, the laptop is pretty standard across the board. It comes with 802 11 AC Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, it has decent input and output.

The webcam is a 720p camera and it is adequate in equality. It is adequate, it is not stellar but it will certainly do the job. It does have a privacy shutter on the top, so you can slide this little thing over and it blocks the webcam. The speaker quality is surprisingly good. They get very loud with not a lot of distortion, there’s not a lot of bass though. So, if you’re intending to listen to music, you may want to pair headphones but for something like podcasts or vocals or YouTube video, this thing is going to be more than fine.

There is no windows hello on this laptop, so it doesn’t have a webcam or fingerprint scanner that can use the computer to login with. So, you will have to use a traditional pin and password. The keyboard is backlit and it is full size with a Numpad. So, anybody working in Excel spreadsheets is going to enjoy that. It has two USB 3, SD card slot, USB-C, HDMI, headphone jack, and of course where you would charge the laptop.

CPU OPTIONS:

Dell Inspiron 15 3593

The processor options here are the Intel Core i3 1005G1, i5 1035G1, i7 1065G7 processor. The base frequency is 1.00 Gigahertz, turbo frequency is 3.60 Gigahertz, 6 megabytes intel smart cache memory, lithography is 10 nanometers, 4 cores, and 8 threads. This processor has inbuilt graphics, the graphics name is Intel UHD graphics.

Many users will be satisfied with the general performance it provides because it relies on a good amount of eight gigabytes RAM associated with a low-power quad-core i3 1005G1 or i5 1035G1 or i7 1065G7 Comet Lake processor. In addition, this computer is capable of running games that consume little graphics resources because it is equipped with the dedicated GeForce MX 230 card, of course, it allows you to view photos and videos as well like the Intel UHD 620 solution integrated within the quad-core i5 processor.

There are three CPU options in this Ideapad S340 which are 10th generation i3 1005G1, i5 1035G1, i7 1065G7 processors. This one is from the 10th generation, so even though you buy i3 which is a low range CPU, the speed will be pretty good. 

GPU OPTIONS:

The Intel UHD graphics’ base frequency is 300 megahertz, max dynamic frequency is 1.05 gigahertz. Also, it has 2 gigabytes dedicated GDDR5 NVIDIA graphics card. The graphics model name is NVIDIA Pascal GeForce MX230 is a based entry-level graphics card. This is only suited for less demanding games. With these GPUs, you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.

Nvidia Optimus onboard technology automatically switches between the two in real-time as needed. Optimist favors the Intel UHD 620 as much as possible despite its modest performance because it favors autonomy compared to the GeForce MX230.

The graphics used here is Intel UHD graphics which is a low range graphics. This one is usually good for productivity purposes with light gaming. The speed and everything is great but this will not be great for high-end gaming but you can play even the hardcore games with low settings, that may work.

BATTERY:

You can expect around 5 hours on battery in light use. In heavy use of web surfing, watching videos, and for photoshop or editing purposes, it will give around 3 to 4 hours. 

Lenovo Ideapad 15 S340

In terms of battery life, we managed to get somewhere between about the 7 to 8-hour range in practical use. This laptop has 3 cell 52.5 WHr and 36 WHr battery inside it and according to the battery, it gives a battery life up to 6 hours or 10 hours.

WHICH TO BUY?

The Dell Inspiron is good for productivity work and computer tasks, low-end gaming, and also for some small editing purposes. The Lenovo Ideapad S340 is not for heavy video editors and it is also not for gamers, you could do maybe some games like Fortnight and/or Starcraft but this is not going to play AAA titles at max settings by any means.

The price of both the laptops doesn’t have any huge differences and also some of the features are the same. I think Lenovo Ideapad S340 will be better because it’s got thin bezels and good quality display but if you like Dell a lot then it’s also a good one to buy. Overall, both come under budget.
